FAQ
Dashers will have a few rules to follow!
The following things are NOT ALLOWED on the course:
Bikes are NOT allowed
Rollerblades or roller-skates are NOT allowed.
Unregistered runners or walkers are NOT allowed. (They will be escorted off the course.)
1. When and where is packet pick-up?
Pre Packet pick-up is on March 15th in the open space at the corner of Woodward and Washington Ave. You can’t miss usJ 3pm-7pm Get your race tee, bib and other goodies!
Race Day Same location as above! 8am-10:30am please arrive early!
2. Where can I park?
There are numerous lots and parking decks in downtown Royal Oak. Also try to get a spot on Main street or other surrounding areas
3. What time should I arrive on race day?
It is recommended you arrive as early as possible to obtain nearby parking. We recommend arriving by 9:15 am.
4. If I pre-registered and can’t participate, can I transfer my bib number or get a refund?
No, sorry you may not transfer. Lucky Dash also has a strict NO REFUND policy. When you register be ready to race, walk, jog or dash!
5. How are Awards handled?
Overall Male, Female and Masters are presented around 11:20am
Age group results are posted at the finish line. Results will be posted shortly after most participants have finished each race. Updated postings will be made continuously. Courtesy of Race Services Co.
Age group awards are handed out at the Awards Tent in the open space. Check the postings, and if you are 1st, 2nd, or 3rd in your age group, come to the tent to pick up your award. Then check out the parade!!
6. Is there a medical tent?
Yes. A staffed medical tent is located just past the finish line in the open space.
7. Is it permissible to run with a baby buggy or pet dogs?
Baby buggies are allowed. Plan to start at the end of the pack of runners at the start line. Please take extra caution to insure the safety of other runners, yourself and your child. For our 2013 race we are allowing dogs to join us in the event. This rule may change as the event grows each year.
8. Are headphones (ipods, mp3 players, etc) allowed on the course?
YES. However, they are allowed and we urge you to be very cautious of those around you and all activity on the course.
9. Where are Porti-Johns and Water located?
Water, Gatorade and porti-johns are available in the open space at the start line in the open space Water is provided at the half way point on course. Water and Gatorade along with other snacks will be at the finish area.
10. How do I volunteer?

11. What is the typical weather on race day?
For the second week in March, Temps should average around 45 degrees for race time. If Luck should have it like the previous years. We should be up for 60+ again
12. Cancellations?
In accordance with the Lucky Dash produced by Element Events Inc., park officials, city officials and local law enforcement has the authority to cancel any of the events for emergency purposes such as, but not limited to, inclement weather. If such emergency conditions force cancellation, refunds cannot be provided since funds will have been spent in preparation for Race Day. T-shirts will be distributed
